Under the general supervision of the Manager, Food Services or Designate, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the COOK I is responsible for: preparing food as specified on the menu; maintaining high standards of sanitation in food handling and in work areas; documenting appropriate information as required; and performing all other related duties as assigned.
One (1) year related experience, within the preceding seven (7) years in a commercial cooking operation.
Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
Successful completion of a recognized Commercial Cooking Program.
Qualifications and Skills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to take initiative and adapt to improved food preparation methods.
Ability and willingness to follow standardized recipes and to assist in the control of serving portions.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated personal cleanliness.
A RESUME IS REQUIRED WHEN APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION
Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach constantly throughout the entire shift.
Ability to lift and carry approximately 60 lbs/27 kgs.
