Mental Health Clinical Adviser – Expressions of Interest
- Waikeria Prison Development – Mental Health Unit
- 24 months fixed term
- Salary range $90,151 – $127,271
Corrections’ new Waikeria Prison build is underway, with 500 additional beds to be built for people in our care, and a new purpose-built 100-bed facility focused on the care and treatment of those with mental health issues. The first of its kind for New Zealand, the mental health facility will help to address a significant need to directly and promptly support people in our care who have serious behavioural problems, identified mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the fore front of the establishment of a project team tasked with developing and implementing the Model of Care which will broadly define the way our mental health services will be delivered, outlining best practice care and services for our patients to support progression through their rehabilitative journey.
Skills and Experience required: Minimum 5 years Mental Health and Addictions clinical experience, service development, assurance and improvement, leadership, internal and external relationship management, risk management, strong written and verbal communication, demonstrates adaptability and flexibility.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience working in complex programme environments
- The ability to critically evaluate and influence
- The ability to successfully work through ambiguity
- Ability to form strong functional relationships
This role will be centred either in the Central Region or Wellington, with extensive travel between Wellington and Hamilton; international travel may also be required in some instances. A full driver’s licence is essential.
