What you will do
The aim of this role is to provide, maintain, design and build up-to-date computing facilities within 230 Squadron and the wider Royal New Zealand Air Force for Air specific networks.
On a daily basis you will give technical input into ongoing projects, provide high level I.T. support, be involved in the development of new solutions and manage current systems. You will be joining a dynamic and supportive team who are passionate about the work they do. Being a motivated learner you are happy to also coach and mentor junior tech staff by sharing your knowledge.
What we need
You are an I.T professional with a good foundation in network facilities, set up and maintenance and will bring a working and technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies, VMWare, Server hardware, CISCO networking, SAN technologies, Fortinet and ITIL. You can provide creative solutions to complex situations.
Very good interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Not only will you be liaising with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external you will also be delivering formal presentations. You are a confident communicator more than happy to get out into the organisation and build good relationships.
Ideally you will have had exposure to a high availability business support environment and can bring significant experience in a tier 2/3 support role.

Higher level Security Clearance
* most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last ten years, OR
* is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last ten years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
